Continuous Improvement and Innovation within Transit Agencies

David completed a detailed study on how to foster a culture of innovation within public transit agencies. This study involved a partnership with TriMet to deliver a series of recommendations based on a best practice review of transit agency continuous improvement programs in five large American transit properties, analysis on current organizational structures, staff interviews and a literature review of public sector innovation. Recommendations included strategies to improve employee/management communications, celebrating stories of success, developing front line employment mobility and cross training programs and establishing a formalized intake and evaluation process for innovative ideas.
