David supervised the creation of this academic report that investigated the opportunities to advance on-demand transit technology for paratransit, specifically for TransLink's HandyDART system. The research team conducted a literature review, established evaluation criteria, examined case studies of existing on-demand paratransit services from across North America, developed a series of best practices, completed a gap analysis and composed recommendations on next steps for TransLink. The team consulted mentors in government relations, executive management, technology solutions, and transportation planning to provide industry insight and to inform the study's recommendations. An on-demand for paratransit pilot is now being explored by TransLink.
